The JEC Fund ProjectProcedures

Process

Process

1. Guidelines and application

Application materials are available as of July 1st each year.
To qualify for application, projects must be launched and completed within a period of one year starting April 1st of the following year.
Application materials may be obtained as follows.

  1. Organizations based in Japan
Download the materials from the Commemorative Organization for the Japan World Exposition '70 Website.
  2. Organizations based outside of Japan

Inquire with the Japanese embassy or consulate near you. See the Foreign Ministry Website for information on embassies and consulates.

2. Period of submission

Organizations located outside of Japan must submit applications to their local Japanese embassy or consulate during the period of September 1st-September 30th.
Organizations based in Japan should send applications during the same period by post to the Commemorative Organization for the Japan World Exposition '70. (Documents may be sent by takkyubin or other means by which the ship date can be confirmed. Ship date, which must be no later than September 30th, is as indicated by the postmark on the envelope).

3. Notification

Once the screening process is complete, all applicants will be notified of acceptance or rejection in mid-March.

4. Paperwork to be completed during the course of the project

Organizations receiving notification of the grant award should complete any necessary paperwork, such as reports, prior to the conclusion of the project and forward it to the Commemorative Organization for the Japan World Exposition '70.

5. Submitting the final report

Grant recipients must submit a final report to the Commemorative Organization for the Japan World Exposition '70 once project costs have been paid.

6. Disbursement timing

Grant money is paid to the implementing organization only after the implementing organization has completed the project, paid the project expenses, and submitted a project completion report to COJWE, which COJWE will examine to finally determine the amount of the grant money. This means that the implementing organization is required to temporarily pay the project expenses out of its pocket. It should be also noted that the amount of the grant money paid to the implementing organization may be less than the originally agreed amount, becouse the amount is calculated based on the actual expenses the implementing organization has paid for the project.
